Veneers are cosmetic shells that are used to hide badly worn, chipped, or stained teeth. They are perfectly shaded to match the colour of your existing teeth. Dental veneers are bonded to the front of the teeth and used to hide imperfections in the front teeth. Although veneers are not a permanent cosmetic solution, they are long-lasting with excellent care and can be replaced when needed.
Resin-Based Veneers
Resin-based veneers are generally less expensive than porcelain veneers but last from five to seven years. These veneers can also be created by your dentist. Your dentist will build the veneer by adding layers of composite material onto your prepared tooth and harden the veneer by using a special light.
Porcelain Veneers
The main benefit of porcelain veneers is that they tend to last longer than resin-based veneers. Your dentist will take a mould of your tooth and send the mould to the lab to create the porcelain veneer. They will also fix a temporary veneer in place until the porcelain veneer is ready.
